Increasing Activities and Learning Outcomes of Class V Students in Social Studies Learning through the Make A Match Model at SDN 03Kampung Olo Padang City

Abstrak

This study aims to improve the activity and learning outcomes of fifth grade students in social studies learning through the Make A Match model at SDN 03 in olo village, Padang City. This researcher was conducted because of the low student learning outcomes because the teacher only uses the lecture model and does not involve students to be active in social studies learners. Therefore it is necessary to use models in every learning, with the type of makeover match Cooverative learning model, students are trained how to express the opinions of others while still referring to the material / learning objectives. Suprijon (2009: 61) argues that "Cooperative learning models are developed to achieve learning outcomes in the form of academic achievement, tolerance, accepting diversity, and developing social skills".
This type of research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR), this type of research triggers actions taken directly by the teacher in an effort to improve the learning process. The stages of this class action research model consist of four components, namely: planning, implementing, observing / observing and reflecting. The subjects of this study were the fifth grade students of SDN 03, olo village, Padang city, amounting to 21 students after the learning activities using the make a match model at SDN 03, olo village, Padang city, could increase the activities and student learning outcomes in social studies learning.
Based on the research results it is known that the learning activities of students 52.75% in the first cycle increased to 73.5% in the second cycle, the activities of the teacher's activities 82.25% in the first cycle increased to 89.55% on the second cycle, and student learning outcomes from 52% in the first cycle increased to 76% in the second cycle. The results of this study can be concluded that in the implementation of social science learning through the Make A Match model at SDN 03 Kampung Olo can improve student learning activities and outcomes.
