Applying the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) Learning Model in Science Learning for Class V Students of SDN 34 Air Pacah

Abstrak

This study aims to determine the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model to the learning outcomes of Natural Sciences V grade SDN34 Air Pacah. The type of this research is experimental research with Posttest-Only Control Design research design. The independent variables in this study are Contextual Teaching and Learning learning models and models conventional learning, while the dependent variable is the result of learning science subjects. The population in this study were all fifth grade students of SD N 34 Air Pacah in the 2019/2020 school year consisting of 2 classes. The samples in this study were 24 class VA students and 24 class VB students. The technique in taking the sample is caratotal sampling. The data taken in this study are the cognitive learning outcomes of students in the cognitive domain obtained through the final test in an objective form. Based on the final test it was found that the experimental class learning outcomes were 78.42 and for the control class 57.78. With the t-test = 0.95 obtained tcount = 8.42 and ttable = 1.70 this means that the count> ttable means that there is a significant difference between students' science learning outcomes using the Contextual Teaching and Learning model, with the science learning outcomes of students who use the method conventional learning in the form of lectures and questions and answers. Then it can be concluded that there is an influence between students' science learning outcomes by using a Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model, and science learning outcomes of students who use conventional learning methods in class V SDN 34 Air Pacah.
