Abstrak

Social Sciences is the study of human life as individuals as well as social beings interacting with their environment. In other words that Social Sciences has a very complex study of human life and its environment along with aspects of human life itself. Therefore students who are part of the community need to be given mastering Social Sciences as a provision for their future life.
To overcome these problems researchers used the Role Playing model of social studies learning outcomes for fourth grade students of SDN 02 Taram, Harau District. Based on this, the researcher conducted an experimental study with the title “The Effect of a Role Playing Model on Student Learning Outcomes in Class IV SDN Taram, Harau District”. This type of research is experimental research. The independent variable in this study is the influence of Role Playing Model in social studies learning in the experimental class and lecture method in the control class. while the dependent variable is the ability of students' social studies learning outcomes obtained based on tests given at the end of the study. The population in this study were all students of class IV SDN 02 Taram in the academic year 2018/2019. The samples in this study were 18 students in class IV A and 20 students in class IV B were 20 students. The sampling technique is random sampling. The data taken in this study are students' social studies learning outcomes obtained through the final test in an objective form. The results showed the average value of the experimental class was higher than the control class (experimental class the average value of 81.67 and the control class an average value of 72.5. Statistically (α = 0.05) obtained tcount = 7 , 55 and t table = 2.032 where thiung> t table then the H1 working hypothesis is accepted and H0 is rejected. From these data it was concluded that the Role Playing model affected the learning outcomes of Grade IV students in Social Studies learning at SDN 02 Taram, Harau District.
