The Effect of the Implementation of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) Cooperative Learning Model on the Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Class IV SDN 03 IX Koto District Dharmasraya
Abstrak
Education is one of the means to develop students' self potentials and skills through the learning process as a provision for themselves to live a life of community, nation and state. According to Jhonson & Rising (Tombokan Runtukahu & Selpius Kandou, 2014: 28), mathematics is structured knowledge, in which nature and theory are deductively made based on elements that are defined or undefined and based on axioms, traits or theories that have been verified. In general, teachers only use conventional learning such as lectures and teachers do not use learning models, so there are some students who pay less attention. In connection with the aforementioned problems, the solution given is to use the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model in Mathematics learning for Class IV SDN 03 IX Koto Dharmasraya Regency. Based on this, the researcher is interested in conducting experimental research with the title "The Effect of the Implementation of the Cooperative Learning Model Type Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) Against Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Class IV SDN 03 IX Koto District Dharmasraya".This type of research is experimental research with Posttest-only control design. The independent variable in this study is the Quantum Teaching learning model and the conventional learning model, while the dependent variable is the student learning outcomes in Mathematics. The population in this study were all students of grade IV SDN 03 IX Koto Dharmasraya Regency in the 2019/2020 school year consisting of 2 classes. The sample in this study was 18 students in class V.A and 20 students in V.B. The technique in sampling is by means of total sampling. The data taken in this study are the cognitive learning outcomes of students in the cognitive domain obtained through the final test in an objective form.
The results showed the average value of the experimental class was higher than the control class (the experimental class average value of 79.16 and the control class average value of 62.05). In statistical tests the price of t-count> t-table (4.62> 1.72) with a level (α = 0.05) then the hypothesis H1 is accepted.
From these data it can be concluded that the Student Teams Achievment Division (STAD) learning model influences the learning outcomes of Mathematics Students in grade IV SDN 03 IX Koto Dharmasraya Regency. Thus the Student Teams Achievment Division (STAD) learning model is expected to be applied to Mathematics subjects.
