The Relationship Between Emotional Intelligence Level and Smash Volleyball Skill of Son of SMP Negeri 1 Ampek Nagari

Abstrak

Based on the writer's observation of the volleyball players at SMP Negeri 1 Ampek Nagari in smashing, many blows were found that did not produce points / points. this is caused by a lack of targeting accuracy, the imposition of hands with the ball, body balance, mental and emotional intelligence levels that are not set properly. Students do not understand the ways and steps to start a smash, so when the ball does not fit the desired target such as the ball in the net off the field. Basically junior high school students aged around 14 to 15 years where the emotional intelligence of students is still not well controlled, it will affect the volleyball smash blow of SMP Negeri 1 Ampek Nagari. The problem in this study aims to determine the low emotional intelligence and volleyball smash skills of students. The purpose of this study was to look at the relationship between Emotional Intelligence with volleyball smash skills. The population of this research is 54 male students of SMP Negeri 1 Ampek Nagari. The sampling technique with a total sampling technique totaling 54 students. The volleyball smash skills test instrument was then analyzed by correlation test. The results of data analysis showed that, there was a relationship between emotional intelligence with the men's volleyball smash skills at SMP Negeri 1 Ampek Nagari.
