STUDY HABITS AND CONNECTION WITH LEARNING OUTCOMES IN BIOLOGY CLASS IX SMP 2 LIMES RIVER PARIAMAN DISTRICT

This study aims to determine the relationship of biology study habits at home, at school study habits, and habits learned during the exam and see the difference between the level of
parental education and gender on learning outcomes in biology class IX SMP 2 Lemons River District Pariaman. This is a descriptive study with a population of 154 students
throughout the class IX SMP 2 Lemons River listed in the 2nd half-year 2012/2013, with a total sample of 117 students. The variables of this study is the habit of learning as a variable
X and Y variables learning outcomes as. There are two types of data, ie data concerning study habits (primary data) is obtained by using a questionnaire and secondary data from the learning outcomes of students of biology concerned and obtained from the biology teacher test scores daily 2 semesters 1. Data were analyzed using product moment correlation formula. From the research shows that the learning outcomes of students who obtained excellent by 64 or 54.6%. Obtained from the calculation of the price correlation r = 0.772
with a strong correlation coefficient category. Subsequent calculation of the determinant of the coefficient indicates that the relationship with outcome study habits of students studying biology at 59.14%. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between study habits at home, at school, and at the time
of the exam with the student learning outcomes biology class IX SMP 2 Lemons River district of Padang Pariaman. It is therefore recommended to teachers, parents, and students to pay more attention to study habits of the students in order to develop and maximize the good study habits at home, at school, and when the exam.
