The Effect of Direct Instruction Model on Learning Outcomes of Civics in Class V SDn 48 Belimbing Kuranji Thesis Elementary School Teacher Education

Abstrak

Civics is one of the compulsory subjects given at the elementary school level. In general, teachers only use conventional learning. Conventional learning that is intended here is a learning model that is familiar and is often used by teachers in the learning process in the classroom. To overcome these problems, researchers will use the Direct Instruction model on Civics subjects in class V SDN 48 Belimbing Kuranji. Based on this, the researcher is interested in conducting experimental research with the title "The Effect of the Direct Instruction Model on Learning Outcomes of Pkn in Class V and 48 Starfruit Kuranji Padang ". This type of research is an experimental research design "post-test-only control design". The independent variables in this study are the Direct Instruction model and the conventional learning model, while the dependent variable is the PKn learning outcomes. The population in this study were all fifth grade students of SDN 48 Belimbing Padang in the 2019/2020 school year consisting of 2 classes. The sample in this study was 28 students in class V.A and students in class V.B were 31 students. The technique in sampling is by random sampling. The data taken in this study are cognitive learning outcomes of cognitive domain students obtained through the final test in an objective form. The results showed the average value of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class (the experimental class averaged 81.1 and the control class an average value of 70.4). In statistical test the price of tcount> t (0.05; 59) (2.33> 2.00) with a level (α = 0.05) then the H1 hypothesis is accepted. From these data it can be concluded that the Direct Instruction model influences the learning outcomes of Civics in class V SDN 48 Belimbing Padang. Thus the Direct Instructin model is expected to be used in the learning process to have a better influence on student learning outcomes.
