Abstrak

The background of this research is motivated by mathematics learning outcomes based on the percentage of grades VIII students of SMPN 27 Padang in the 2018/2019 academic year at the odd semester end exam in class VIII of the 2019/2020 academic year which is still under KKM. The low students mathematics learning outcomes is due to the ongoing learnimg process that is still centered on the teacher and the difficulty of students in answering the questions given if faced with questions related to the material. And also lack of student responsibility and cooperation with the group if the teacher asks students to group. To overcome this problem, one of the efforts made is to apply the cooperative learning of risky business techniques. With the application of this model, it is expected to improve students learning outcomes towards mathematics learning.

The method is used in this research is an experiment. The population in this research is the seven grade students of SMP Negeri 27 Padang at academic years 2019/2020 that consisting of seven classes. The sample in this study is class VIII.2 and class VIII.4 where class VIII.2 is an experimental class and a class VIII.4 as a control class

Based on data analysis of student’s mathematics learning outcomes in the sample class, with an average percentage test with a level of α = 0.05, obtained   and  then thitung > t(0.95 ; 60), could  ,and it means that is rejected and  is accepted. It can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students who apply cooperative learning models of business techniques are at better risk than the learning outcomes of students who apply ordinary learning in class VIII SMP Negeri 27 Padang of the school year 2019/2020.

Therefore, From the results of this study the researchers sugest that mathematics teachers and readers can apply the cooperative learning models of risky business techniques as an alternative to improving student learning outcomes.
