Implementation of a Learning Start Strategy with a Question Against Student Learning Outcomes and Activities in Mathematics Learning for Class VII Students of SMPN 10 Padang.
Abstrak
This research is motivated by the normal learning process used by teachers, where only some students are active in the learning process. In addition, some students can only work on the same problem with the examples given and students are less fluent in working on new problems that are different from the examples given by the teacher. so that there are still many VII grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Padang who have not yet reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria at the End of Semester I Examination for Academic Year 2017/2018. To overcome this, one of the efforts made is the Implementation of a Learning Start with a Question Strategy.
This type of research is an experiment. The population in this study were students of class VII SMP 10 Padang in the 2018/2019 school year consisting of eight classes. Samples were taken by random sampling so that VII.C was chosen as the experimental class and VII.E grade students as the control class.
Based on the analysis of students' mathematical learning data with a level of α = 0.05 obtained t_count = 1.1830 and t_table = 0.0238. Because t_count> t_ (table) so reject H0. Thus it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students whose learning uses the Learning Start With A Question strategy is better than the results of learning mathematics students who use ordinary learning in class VII students of SMP Negeri 10 Padang Academic Year 2018/2019.From the results of this study the researchers suggest that mathematics teachers can implement the Learning Start With A Question strategy in mathematics learning as an effort to make learning more active, and make student learning outcomes better.
