Application of the Cooperative Learning Model Type Make a Match on Mathematics Learning for Class VIII Students of SMPN 5 Padang.
Abstrak
The background of this research is by the learning process which is more dominated by the teacher, only some students are active in the learning process, and students in doing the practice questions always waiting for their friend's answers, so only few students who actually solve the questions by themselves. This causes many of the eighth grade students' learning outcomes at SMPN 5 Padang not reaching the minimum completeness criteria. To overcome this problem, one of the efforts that can be done is to apply the Make a Match type of cooperative learning model in mathematics learning for eighth grade students of SMPN 5 Padang.
The type of research used is experimental research. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMPN 5 Padang. The sample classes were taken randomly, so that the sample classes obtained in this study were students of class VIII.1 as the experimental class and students of class VIII.3 as the control class.
Based on student learning outcomes data in the two sample classes, after conducting a hypothesis test using the t-test formula. Based on the price of , then and that means H0 is rejected. So it can be concluded that the mathematics learning outcomes of students whose learning using the Make a Match type cooperative learning model is better than that of learning using ordinary learning in class VIII of SMPN 5 Padang.
From the results of this study the researcher suggest that mathematics teachers apply the Make a Match type of cooperative learning model in mathematics learning because it can have a positive impact on student mathematics learning outcomes and make students active in the learning process.
