Development of Snake and Ladder Game Media in the Eye Statistics Mathematics Lessons for Class IV SDN 16 Surau Gadang.

Abstrak

According to Susanto (2014: 183) ‘‘ Mathematics is abstract ideas that contain symbols, then mathematical concepts must be understood before manipulating symbols ". In addition to having abstract nature of mathematics subjects, a good understanding of concepts is very important because to understand new concepts, you must first master the concepts beforehand. Primary school students in general in understanding mathematical concepts still very much need activities related to real objects that can be accepted sense. For this reason, learning media are needed that can help students to understand mathematics learning. To overcome these problems, the researcher will conduct a research development under the title Development of Ladder Snake Media Media in Mathematics Subjects in Statistics Material Class IV SDN 16 Surau Gadang.
This type of research is research development or research and development. According to Sugiyono (2009: 407) that "the research method used to produce certain products, and test the effectiveness of these products. The research instrument uses the validity, practicality and effectiveness sheets. At the Validation stage carried out in this study emphasizes the internal validity (rational) by using the existing criteria in the product development. The observed aspects are aspects of appearance, language and suitability. To test three aspects of validity, expert opinions can be used. Practicality Test is conducted after the media is validated and feasible to be tested with the aim of knowing the level of practicality of Mathematics learning media for grade IV elementary school conducted by one teacher and 29 students, while in the effectiveness of using the test results of learning as many as 5 questions.
The results showed an average value of 88% validity with valid criteria, an average value of 87% practicality with very practical criteria and an average value of 85% effectiveness with very good criteria. From these data it can be concluded that the development of snakes and ladders game media in mathematics subject matter statistics is valid, practical and effective in learning mathematics in grade IV elementary school.
