               The reason the researchers took SDN 06 EmpangTerasLumpo as a place of research. First, the learning process is still centered on the teacher and the teacher teaches with monotonous learning techniques so that students find it difficult to understand the material delivered by the teacher. Second, students only consider these science lessons to be boring. Third, schools are willing to accept educational renewal in the learning process. These four schools are in the midst of an environment of people who want to renew the world of education.               This research is motivated by the low activity and learning outcomes of science students in grade IV SDN 06 EmpangTerasLumpo. The purpose of this study was to improve the activities and learning outcomes of science students in grade IV SDN 06 EmpangTerasLumpo by using the Word Square learning model. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The instrument used was an observation sheet of teacher activity, student activity. The implementation of this activity coincides with the implementation of learning. Data collected can be in the form of quantitative data (test results, quizzes, presentations, assignments, etc.) or qualitative data describing student activity, student responses, quality of discussions conducted and others.               Based on the results of the cognitive domain assessment in the first cycle an average of 67.69 with a percentage of completeness of 46.15%.increased in the second cycle an average of 81.53 with a percentage of completeness 84.61%. Student activity assessment on aspects of answering questions in the first cycle 46.15% increased in the second cycle 80.76%. The assessment of students' activities on the cooperation aspect in the first cycle 73.07% increased in the second cycle 84.61%. Means that the indicators in this study were successful in the implementation of learning by using Word Square type cooperative learning going well. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that in science learning through Word Square type cooperative learning can improve student learning outcomes and activities
