Abstrak
ABSTRACT
This study aimed to examine the effect of cooperative learning model that started with the Word Square homework assignment in the form of summaries. This type of research is experimental research with the study design Randomized Control Group Posttest-only Design. The population in this study were all students of class VII second semester SMPN1 Lasi River District. Solok the academic year 2012/2013 which consists of 3 classes. Sampling was done by purposive sampling. Having obtained randomly the VII1 class was choosen as the experimental class and VII3 as the control class. Cognitive learning outcomes obtained by giving the final test to the both class whereas affective and psychomotor aspects observed by using observation sheets. The results showed that the test using the t test t = 2.06, the value obtained is greater than t table = 1.69 (α = 0.05) so that the research hypothesis is accepted. The average value of the cognitive aspects of experimental class higher (76.05) than the control class (66.94). The average value of the affective aspects of experimental class is higher (73.09%) of the average of the control class (61.83%). From the aspects of psychomotor the average’s value in experimental class (84.16%) is higher than the average value of the control class (46.66%). From the research it can be concluded that there is a significant impact on cooperative learning model to Word Square beginning the task of summarizing the enhancement of the student learning outcomes in biology’s . It is suggested that the biology’s teacher to use cooperative learning model to Word Square is model that begins with the task of summarizing the learning process.
