Abstract

 

The purpose of this study was to determine differences in student learning outcomes between types of Reciprocal Teaching approach with conventional learning in biology teaching. This type of research is experimental research study design randomized posttest Only Design Group. The study population was all students in class VIII MTsN Tarusan consisting of 5 classes and enrolled in Semester 1 Academic Year 2012/2013. Sample grading done by purposive sampling technique, while to determine the experimental class and the control class is done by random sampling. In order to obtain class VIII-D as an experimental class with 36 students and the number of classes VIII-E as a control class with the number of students 37. The data in this study is a final test results later on though with the t test. Of research in getting that data analysis using the t test, obtained t is 4.29. When compared with the 1.67 ttable t> t table. (Α 0.05), with the meaning hypotheses are acceptable. From the study it can be concluded that the results of biological studies between types of Reciprocal Teaching approach produces results that are very real (average 80.69). whereas the conventional learning (average 70.85). affective assessment results in the experimental class is 80%. whereas 83% control class. psychomotor assessment results in the experimental class is 81%. 70% while the control class. Therefore the type of Reciprocal Teaching Approach can be applied in biology in MTsN and considering the time available.
