ABSTRACT
This study aimed to see differences in learning outcomes using conventional methods (lectures, discussions, question and answer) with the learning outcomes using role playing (play a role) X High School students in grades 1 Lubuk
Linggau country. This type of research is experimental research, with a population
of all the students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Linggau. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique, then do random, and found X.2 class as the control class and the experimental class X.1 class. Hypothesis testing is done by ttest, because the data were normally distributed and variances homogeneous. Learning outcomes are observed cognitive tests in view of the end of the lesson, while the affective and psychomotor learning outcomes by using observation sheets were used as supporting data to determine the differences in learning outcomes. The results showed the average value of biology students using Role
Playing 74.70 and biology student achievement without playing the role (role playing) 66.80. (Α = 0.05) obtained t = 3.88 and table = 1 , 67 mean t> t table, then the hypothesis is accepted. In the experimental class showed affective
appraisal value of 90.8 and 91.3 psychomotor domains, whereas the control class demonstrates the value of 64.8 affective and psychomotor domains demonstrate
the value of 66.6. Application Role Playing methods in biology learning can establish a clear difference compare the experimental class in the control.
