MAKNA IDIOM DALAM TABLOID NOVA SEBUAH TINJAUAN SEMANTIK

Abstrak

This research is motivated by the use of idioms that are often found in the tabloids, one of the national tabloids are viewed and read by the people of Indonesia are tabloid Nova. Consists readers from teenagers to adults with different educational backgrounds. The purpose of this study to describe the form of idioms and their meanings. The theory used in this study is the theory proposed by Moh. Kusnadi Wasrie and several other supporting theories about the idiom and its meaning in terms of semantic aspect. This study is a qualitative research that generates verbal data in the form of words written and spoken that can be observed. The method used is descriptive method is by collecting, identifying, analyzing data, and making inferences. Object of this study is the 1316-1323 edition of tabloid Nova. The resultof this study found that totaled 77 idiom idioms idioms consisting of a total of 55 body parts found idiom, idioms with the word senses as much as 6 idioms, idiom as much as 2 color idioms, idioms with names of natural objects as much as 1 idiom, idioms with name as many animals 4 data idiom, idioms with parts of the plants as much as 7 idiom, and idioms with the word as much as 2 numbers idiom. Based on the results of the data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the idiom is found in tabloid Nova shaped idioms with body parts, idioms with word senses, idioms with color names, idioms with the name of natural objects, idioms with animal names, idioms with parts grow-plants, and idioms with the word number. The idiom is found to have been heard and used in        society.
