KEMAMPUAN MENULIS PUISI MENGGUNAKAN METODE INKUIRI SISWA KELAS VIII SMPN 2 SUTERA KABUPATEN PESISIR SELATAN

Abstrak

This research was stimulated by the thinking that a writing skill represented one of virtual aspect in the language, because by used writing activities can be utilized as the media for one to express their self especially in writing a poem. This research aim to describe the student’s skill in writing a poem at class VIII SMPN 2 Sutera of South Pesisir Regency based on the diction. The type of this research was a qualitative provided with descriptive method where in this research produced the descriptive data in the form of written and oral. The research was conducted by giving a tasks to the students, following the steps of inquiry and identifying the diction. The object of this research was students at class VIII SMPN 2 Sutera of South Pesisir Regency. Theory in this study used 1) Waluyo and other support theory about the poet and diction, (2) Sanjaya who discussed about inquiry learning strategy. The result of research showed that from 29 data of poem was written by students through inquiry method can be seen the choosing aspect of word or diction consisted of denotative meaning and connotative meaning from 331 rhymes, 203 rhymes used denotative meaning and 128 rhymes used connotative meaning. Based on the result of this research can be concluded that the ability of student in writing a poem by using inquiry method at class VIII SMPN 2 Sutera of South Pesisir in Regency was good. Thus, for getting a better learning outcome, need to improve student writing skill and their attention under teacher guide to use any kinds of attractive strategy and appropriate with teaching matter.
