Abstrak

The problem in learning mathematics was the decreace of students’ motivation and activation in learning process. To solve this problem, one this that deapplied was Cooperative Learning mode in Team Game Tournament, used Student Recap strategy. The purpose of this research was to know how the development of students’ activitieswhen applying the cooperative learning mode i) in learning mathematics at SMP Negeri 31 Padang and to figure out the result of the students’ mathematics learning; ii)was this strategybetter than Conventional Learning at SMP Negeri 31 Padang. The type of this research was Experimental result of the instruments used observation sheets to see learning activities and test used to see the students’ learning the consep. The result of this research was the tendency of increasing students’ learning activities, another result showed us that the result of students’ mathematic learning that apply Cooperative Learning mode in Team Game Tournament type with Student Recap strategy was better than Conventional Learning at SMP Negeri 31 Padang.
