Abstrak

The media is a tool to facilitate interaction between educators and students so that learning activities can be more effective and efficient. In teaching, several terms are known such as demonstration. But in terms of demonstration it has been popularized into a media term. In the learning process at school, students tend to feel bored in learning in the classroom due to the lack of creativity of educators in making teaching aids or learning media that teachers develop themselves, there are still many teachers who use the lecture method in their learning, no other media are used as learning aids. Many of the educators have never thought about making their own learning media, one of which is puzzel-based learning media. The researcher conducted development research with the title "Development of Natural Science Learning Media Based on Puzzzle Games on the Theme of Caring for Living Things for Class IV Students of SDN 05 Muara Air, Pesisir Selatan Regency. This type of research is a Research and Development (R&D) research. by using the ADDIE Model which is modified into ADDI, namely: 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Development, 4) implementation. The test subjects of this learning media are fourth grade students of SDN 05 Muara Air on caring for living things. The instrument in this study used a validity and practicality sheet. Based on the results of the research, the development of puzzle game-based science learning media was included in very valid criteria with an average validity of 0.98 by media experts, and the average validity of material experts was 0.86 with very valid criteria. The developed puzzle game-based science learning media is also included in the very practical criteria that have been filled by educators with an average practicality of 0.89, and students of 0.88. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the puzzle game-based science learning media fulfills the very valid and very practical criteria to be used as a medium in science learning, especially in grade IV in elementary schools.
