Abstrak

Low motivation and reading skills of students in SDN 04 Sasak West Pasaman caused by the presentation of the learning method is more theory through lectures. This study aimed to describe the increase in motivation and reading skills fourth grade students of SDN 04 Sasak West Pasaman using models scramble. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) with two cycles. Learning model used in this study was a scramble. The data were obtained by using the observation sheet teachers and students, as well as questionnaires and student worksheets. The results in each cycle showed an increase in students' motivation and reading skills. Students' reading motivation is based on the observation sheet increased 14.48% from 65.22% in the first cycle to 79.70% in the second cycle. Students' reading motivation questionnaire increased by 14.29% from 61.40% in the first cycle to 75.69% in the second cycle. Reading skills of students gained 9.65 64.65 to 74.30 in the first cycle in the second cycle. Based on the analysis of data, it can be concluded that the use of models scramble to increase motivation and reading skills of fourth grade students of SDN 04 Sasak West Pasaman.
