KEMAMPUAN MENULIS PANTUN SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI I TIGO NAGARI KABUPATEN PASAMAN

Abstrak

The background of the problem of this research came from writing, that was low students’ motivation in writing, specifically in writing the traditional poetry. They are difficult in pouring the idea to be a writing, less asking and difficult in choosing the suitable vocabulary to use. The purpose of this research was to describe the first year students’ ability in writing traditional poetry at SMPN I Tigo Nagari Kabupaten Pasaman deals with the amount of row, the amount of syllable, rhyme, couplet, contents and creativity. The theory used about writing is from Semi and theory about poetry is from Gani. This research was qualitative descriptive. The sample of this research was VII_A students of SMPN I Tigo nagari Kabupaten Pasaman. They all are 30 students. The result of this research found that the first year students’ ability in writing traditional poetry at SMPN I Tigo Nagari Kabupaten Pasaman was categorized good. It was proved by the fact that the students ability in in witing traditional poetry from the amount of line aspect was almost perfect (95,5), the syllable aspect was enough (67,7), rhyme aspect was good (85,5), couplet and contents aspect was good (79,9) and creativity aspect was enough (65,5). It can be concluded that the mean of students’ ability in writing traditional poetry was good (78,6).
