Abstrak

Directive speech act is a speech act performed with the intention that the opponent's speakers said acts mentioned in the speech that, like asking, pleading, demanding, and advise. This study aims to describe the form of strategies and context situation speak speech used in linguistic politeness Minangkabau children to older people in Kenagarian Koto Nan Gadang Kecamatan Payakumbuh Barat. This research is a qualitative study using descriptive method, the object is a native who settled in Kenagarian Koto Nan Gadang Kecamatan Payakumbuh Barat, which includes the family of educated, middle-educated families, and less educated families. The instrument used in the form of questionnaires (closed type questionnaire), and the researchers themselves who assisted with the observation sheet or can be recorder. From the results obtained information that, for many types of personality strategies used children in directive speech act is a strategy speak frankly without further ado. Use strategy tells frankly unceremoniously felt mannered when used in the context of the hearer are inferior, already familiar, and the speech is done alone, and the use of strategies speak frankly unceremoniously deemed to be polite when used in the context of the addressees whose position higher, familiar, and in public utterances.
