This research is motivated by the use of learning media that is less than optimal in learning, the teaching and learning process that still explains the material on the blackboard makes students less understand the concept of learning so that students are lazy to do the exercises given by the teacher. This study aims to develop a travel game mathematics learning media on the material of dividing and adding fractions to the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 27 Sungai Nanam. According to Laila Sagita (2016) "Travel game is one of the educational game media that can be presented as a game in learning. With the development of travel game media, it is hoped that student learning achievement will increase and students can also be more active in the learning process.” This type of research is Research and Development (R & D). The development procedure uses 4-D which consists of four stages, namely defining, designing, developing, and disseminating (Trianto, 2014). However, due to limited time and cost, the researcher will only carry out research until the 3D stage, namely define, design, and develop. The validator of the validity questionnaire was carried out by 2 lecturers from Bung Hatta University and practicality was carried out by the teacher and 20 fifth grade students of SDN 27 Sungai Nanam. Data for validity were obtained from the results of the validity sheet of two validators. Media validity includes two aspects, namely material aspects and media aspects. Based on the results of the validation by the validator, the developed travel game media obtained a percentage of 84.7% with valid criteria. The results of the practicality of teachers get a percentage of 90.1% and students with a percentage of 90.6% with very practical criteria. This shows that the travel game mathematics learning media on the material of division and addition of fractions is valid and very practical to use in learning mathematics for fifth grade elementary school students. The use of travel game media is expected to be an alternative media for elementary mathematics learning.
