Abstrak

The background underlying this research is the lack of students' creative thinking skills in learning mathematics. Seen in the learning that is applied is still teacher-centered, and the lack of student confidence in their creativity. In addition, the percentage of completion of the 2019/2020 Odd Semester Final Examination is still much below the KKM value. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the level of students' creative thinking skills in learning mathematics for class VII SMPN 29 Padang. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method. The instruments in this study were written tests and interview guidelines. The subjects in this study were students of class VII.9 SMP Negeri 29 Padang, totaling 21 students. From the results of this study, there are four levels of creative thinking of students with level 3 to the lowest level or level 0. From the results of the study, it was found that there were four levels of students' creative thinking. The four levels of creative thinking are creative (23.81%), moderately creative (42.86%), less creative (23.81%) and not creative (9.52%). From the results of this study, it was found that the level of students' creative thinking skills was at a fairly creative level. This can be seen from the percentage of students' creative thinking abilities obtained from the results of the written test. From the results of this study, it is suggested that students should practice their creative thinking skills by solving math problems with various solutions, so that they can train students' creative thinking processes.
