Abstrak

The background of this research is the low achievement students of
VII.E at SMPN 1 Bukit Sundi in learning mathematic. It is caused by the
lack of students’ courage in asking and answering the teacher’s questions.
One way that can be used to overcome this problem is using a talking stick
learning model. The purpose of this research is to increase the students’
involvement and math learning result of VII.E class at SMPN 1 Bukit Sundi
through cooperative learning model talking stick type. This is a class action
research. Subject of this research is students SMPN 1 Bukit Sundi at class
VII.E. The concluded of is the students’ involvement and result in learning
mathematic can be increased through talking stick at VII.E class in SMPN 1
Bukit Sundi.
