Abstrak

Natural science (IPA) is part of life, briefly IPA can be interpreted as rational knowledge about the universe and all its contents. Along with the development of science and technology in living systems, the implementation of science learning must also experience development. Therefore, learning science in Indonesia through an ever-evolving curriculum should lead to student-centred learning (Student Center). In science learning activities in elementary schools, it is necessary to use interesting learning modules and be able to increase students' interest in learning. In the learning process at school, teachers only use theme books and worksheets. Teachers have not developed their own teaching materials, due to limited resources and lack of ability to make teaching materials. So that students' interest in learning is reduced and students find it difficult to get learning resources. Researchers conducted development research with the title "Development of Science Learning Modules Based on Inquiry Approach on Theme 9 for Fourth Grade Students of SDN 10 East Painan". The type of research conducted is Research and Development (R&D) research using a 4D development model, namely Define, Design, Development and Disseminate. However, in this research, it only reached the Develop stage. The test subjects of this learning module were fourth grade students at SDN 10 Painan Timur, Pesisir Selatan Regency. The instrument in this study used a validity and practicality sheet. At the validation stage, the module that has been designed is continued with validation activities by a validator consisting of 3 expert lecturers, namely material experts, linguists, and design experts. The practicality stage is carried out after the module has been validated and is feasible to be tested with the aim of knowing the level of practicality of the learning module. Based on the results of research on the development of inquiry-based science learning modules with an overall validity average of 3.51 with a very valid category, while the overall average practicality by teachers is 96% with a very practical category and students obtain practical results with an average overall overall 90% with very practical category. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that this inquiry-based science learning module is very valid and very practical to use in science learning so that it can be used as one of the teaching materials in learning in class IV SDN 10 East Painan, Pesisir Selatan Regency.
