Abstrak

Mathematics learning is a teaching and learning process built by teachers to develop students' creative thinking which can improve students' thinking skills, and can improve the ability to construct new knowledge as an effort to improve good mastery of mathematics. In the learning process at school, the teacher said that students only studied using thematic books lent by the school and also used LKS as a learning resource. This can cause students to be unable to develop their potential, because students are only focused on solving the problems presented in the theme book that must be solved by the students themselves. Researchers conducted development research with the title "Development of Mathematics Learning Media Using Powtoon Animation in Building Materials for Class II Elementary School Students". The type of research carried out is development research using a 5-D development model which is modified into 3-D, the stages carried out are analysis, design, and development. The test subjects of this mathematics learning module were second grade students of SD Negeri 09 Surau Gadang Padang, totaling 21 students. In the validation stage, the media that has been designed, is continued with validation activities by a validator consisting of 2 lecturers from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Bung Hatta University. For the practicality stage, it is carried out after the learning media that have been made. Based on the results of research on the development of Mathematics Learning Media Using Powtoon Animation in Building Space Materials, an overall average validity of 91.2% was obtained with very valid criteria, while the average practicality by teachers and students obtained an overall average of 93.8% with very practical criteria. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the mathematics learning media using animation powtoon is very valid and very practical to use in learning mathematics, so it can be used as one of the learning media in learning in class II SD Negeri 09 Surau Gadang Padang.
