This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students, which is caused by the low understanding of students when reading literal and the teacher has not used effective reading strategies, so that students have not optimally understood learning well. The purpose of this study was to describe the improvement of Indonesian language learning outcomes by using the Card Sort strategy. According to the Ernedisman method, which has been explained in his journal, card sort is a collaborative activity that can be used to teach concepts, characteristics, classifications, facts, about objects or review information. The aim of this research is to describe the improvement of the fourth grade students' skills in SD Negeri V Koto Kampung Dalam in reading using the card sort strategy on the results of the learning evaluation. The type of research used in this research is classroom follow-up research (CAR) which consists of 2 cycles, where each cycle consists of 2 meetings. The card sort active learning model uses card facilities, the card contains a problem that must be solved by each student. The predominant physical movement in this strategy can help dynamic a bored or bored classroom. This type of research is classroom action research which is carried out in two cycles. The research subjects were fourth grade students of SD Negeri 20 V Koto Kampung Dalam, Padang Pariaman Regency. The research instrument was in the form of an observation sheet for the affective aspects of students, an observation sheet for learning activities by the teacher, and a test for student learning outcomes. From the implementation of this research, it can be concluded that the use of the card sort method can optimize the potential that exists in students because with this method students are required to be actively involved in the learning process, thus the use of the card sort strategy in learning Indonesian can improve students' reading skills. namely the percentage of students' reading skills increased from 45.45% in the first cycle and increased to 84.84% in the second cycle.Referensi
