In the current era of globalization, education is something that is needed in the progress of a nation. Likewise with this nation, the government is very concerned about the field of education, especially basic education because basic education is the basis for shaping the character of students. Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential to have religious spiritual strength, selfcontrol, personality, intelligence, noble character, and skills needed by themselves, society, nation and state. It is intended for a teacher who is required to be diligent, skilled and creative in carrying out learning and stimulating student learning activities in order to develop their potential. Elementary school education in its implementation there are several subjects that must be mastered by students, one of which is the subject of natural science (IPA) which is a compulsory subject to be studied at the elementary school level. Science is a science that studies natural phenomena that are arranged systematically based on the results of experiments and observations made by humans. Science learning is intended to provide a learning experience that develops the ability to reason, plan and conduct scientific investigations, using the knowledge that has been learned to understand the natural phenomena that occur around them. Science is essentially a product, process, and application. While the product, science is a collection of knowledge and a set of concepts and concept charts. As a process, science is a process used to study objects of study, find and develop science products, and as an application, science theories will give birth to technology that can make life easier. The learning process in the classroom went well but during the learning process there were some findings obtained, namely the learning resources used by educators were still minimal, only sourced from teacher books and student books provided by the government. There are no other sources or teaching materials used by educators to support learning in the classroom, so students only receive lessons through explanations from educators. The learning method used is still conventional, namely educators still use the lecture method and only do a little practice in the learning. So that sometimes students can only imagine what is conveyed by the teacher without being able to see it directly. This causes students to get bored quickly in learning and look for their own busyness when learning takes place. Moreover, the level of understanding of each student is different, causing the learning outcomes obtained by students to be less than optimal. Another thing that the researchers found was the unavailability of other teaching materials such as mind mappingbased learning modules in the classroom learning process. There is no availability of mind mapping-based science learning modules in elementary schools. The researcher conducted a study with the title "Development of a Mind Mapping Science Learning Module Based on Theme 7 on Style Materials for Grade IV Students at SDN 042/XI Seberang, Pesisir Bukit District, Sungai Penuh City". The type of research conducted is research on the development of a 4-D development model, namely, define, design, development and disseminate. However, due to time constraints, the researcher only reached the 3-D stage, which consisted of the define, design, and development stages. The trial subjects of this science learning module were fourth grade students of SDN 042/XI Seberang, Pesisir Bukit District, Sungai Penuh City, totaling 18 students. In the validation stage, the module that has been designed is followed by validation activities by a validator consisting of 3 lecturers from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Bung Hatta University. The practicality stage is carried out after the module is validated and feasible to be tested with the aim of knowing the level of practicality of the learning module that has been made. Based on the results of research on the development of mind mapping-based science learning modules, an overall average validity of 3.59 was obtained with very valid criteria, while for the average practicality by teachers and students obtained an overall average of 94.56% with very practical criteria. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the mind mapping-based science learning module is very valid and very practical to use in science learning, so it can be used as one of the teaching materials in learning in class IV SDN 042/XI Seberang, Pesisir Bukit District, Sungai City.
