Abstrak

Causes of low achievement Elementary School third-grade students 21 Bukittamasu Balimbing in science teaching is the lack of attention to students when the teacher explains the lesson, students simply record what the teacher wrote on the blackboard, and the teacher is less precise method of learning so many students who have not reached KKM set is 68. Efforts are made to improve student learning outcomes is to implement cooperative learning method talking stick. Classroom action research was conducted in the second semester of academic year 2011/2012 and implemented in class III SD Negeri 21 Bukittamasu Balimbing by the number of students 26. Based on the analysis of data and material that has been collected, it can be concluded that the first meeting of the first cycle, the use of cooperative learning methods talking stick has not shown an increase in the student learning outcomes that have been completed and not yet complete as many as thirteen people or 50.00%. At the second meeting, improved learning outcomes has begun to stand out is with an average value of 70.92. Students who have completed seventeen people or 65.38% and students who have not completed a total of six people or 23.08%. In the second cycle, at the third meeting, student learning outcomes is very satisfactory with an average value of 73.81. All the students have completed as many as 26 people or 100.00%. While all students in learning activities is to listen, pay attention, understand the subject matter, it is understood the steps talking stick type of cooperative learning, was able to answer and make inferences, and solve problems and be able to do homework.
