Abstrak

Conditions science learning in fifth grade Elementary School District 07
Muaro Bodi Sijunjung still not optimal. This study aims to improve student
learning outcomes fifth grade elementary school. In this research, using
qualitative and quantitative approaches and using the inquiry approach the stages,
namely: orientation, formulation of the problem, set the temporary answer
(hypothesis), infer the data to answer questions / hypotheses, draw conclusions.
Thisis action research study consisting of  two cycles each cycle consisting of
planning, implementation measures are accompanied by observations
(observation) and reflection. The research data obtained through observation,
interviews, documentation and test results. Analysis of the data showed that  the
use of inquiry approaches to improve student learning outcomes. Cognitive
learning outcomes first cycle increased to 72.17 and 86.67 the second cycle, the
first cycle affective aspects 79.25 86.75 increased in the second cycle and
psychomotor aspects  of the first cycle 80.33 87.42 increase in cycle II. So the
inquiry approach can improve student learning outcomes in science teaching and
also in the long term to improve the quality of education.
