ANALISIS KONFLIK DAN WATAK TOKOH UTAMA NOVEL SANDIWARA LANGIT KARYA ABU UMAR BASYIER

Abstrak

This research is motivated by the interest in researching the story which is based from real story. The purpose of this study is to describe the conflict , characteristic , and relationship between conflict and characteristic of main character in Sandiwara Langit by Abu Umar Basyier. The theory which is used in research of conflict and characteristic is the theory which proposed by Alex Sobur ( 2011), about conflict, and Florence Littauer (1996) about human characteristic. This research is a qualitative descriptive method. Results of the analysis are: First, based on motive the main character of Sandiwara Langit by Abu Umar Basyier has three internal conflicts. From the research, there are nineteen conflict: (a) three approach-approach conflicts, (b) eleven approach-avoidance conflicts, and (c) five avoidance-avoidance conflicts. Second, the characteristic of the main character in Sandiwara Langit by Abu Umar Basyieris cholericus character as he is decisive, strong willed, and have target, though occasionally he also appeared with flegmaticus character that controlled, patient, and adaptable. Third, based on connection between conflict and characteristic of main character can be concluded thatthe conflict causes the change of characteristic of main character. For examplethe conflict when Rizqan’s goods was kicked up scattered, the conflict cause Rizqan’s characteristic changes from cholericus (emotional and aggressive) into flegmaticus (hidethe emotions).
