"Improving Speaking Skills through the Role Playing Model in Indonesian Language Learning for Class V SD Negeri 07 Gunung Tuleh, West Pasaman Regency

The background of this research is the lack of students' speaking skills in class V SD Negeri 07 Gunung Tuleh, West Pasaman Regency which is caused during the learning process the lack of habituation of students appears so that students' speaking skills are lacking. The purpose of this study was to describe the improvement of students' speaking skills by using the role playing model. The theory used in this study is the theory of speaking put forward by Angraini (2013), and the role playing model put forward by Shoimin (2016). This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings and a final test. The subjects of this study were 26 students of class V SD Negeri 07 Gunung Tuleh, West Pasaman Regency. The research instruments used were teacher activity sheets, student activity sheets, and speaking skills assessment sheets. The assessment of the teacher's observation sheet increased from cycle I to cycle II, namely the percentage in cycle I was 78.1% which was categorized as good, increasing in cycle II to 84.4% which was categorized as very good. Observation of student activity also increased, namely in the first cycle to get a percentage of 79.15% which was categorized as good, increasing in cycle II to 87.4% which was categorized as very good. Then the assessment sheet of students' speaking skills from cycle I to cycle II experienced an increase, an increase in students' speaking skills from cycle I with a percentage of 47.11% which was categorized as sufficient, increased in cycle II with a percentage of 78.2% which was categorized as very good. From the results of the study it can be concluded that learning Indonesian in speaking skills by using the role playing model can improve the speaking skills of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 07 Gunung Tuleh, West Pasaman Regency.Referensi
