THE EFFECT OF USING THE DAKOTA TEACH TOOL ON THE MATHEMATICS LEARNING OUTCOMES OF CLASS IV STUDENTS AT SDN 20 KURAO PAGANG NANGGALO DISTRICT PADANG CITY

Abstrak

The background of this research is that the learning process is still teacher-centered, students still perceive mathematics as a difficult and complicated subject. In addition, students do not understand what is conveyed by the teacher which results in low student learning outcomes. Low student learning outcomes require teachers to improve the learning process, one of which is by using Dakota teaching aids. This study aims to prove the use of dakota teaching aids has an effect on the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SDN 20 Kurao Pagang, Nanggalo District, Padang City. This type of research is experimental research with a Posttest Only Control Group Design research design. The sample in this study were all fourth grade students at SDN 20 Kurao Pagang, Nanggalo District, Padang City with students in grade IV A as the experimental class and grade IV B as the control class. The data taken in this study is the learning outcomes obtained through the final test in an objective form. Based on the final test, it was found that the learning outcomes for the experimental class were 77.95 and for the control class, it was 64.6. Through the t-test with ï¡=0.05, tcount = 3.257 and ttable = 2.01, this means tcount > ttable. Therefore, it can be concluded that the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SDN 20 Kurao Pagang, Nanggalo District, Padang City who use dakota teaching aids are better than the learning outcomes of students who do not use teaching aids. For this reason, it is suggested that teachers can use dakota props in the learning process.
