PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PERMULAAN MELALUI METODE SAS (STRUKTURAL ANALITIK SINTETIK) SISWA KELAS I SD NEGERI 15 RANAH BATAHAN KABUPATEN PASAMAN BARAT

This research is motivated by the low reading ability of grade I students because students are less able to put together the letters that are spelled if they have multiple consonant patterns. The purpose of this study was to describe the increase in beginning reading ability with the SAS (Synthetic-Structural Analytical) method of class I students in learning Indonesian. The theory used in this study is the theory of reading according to Tarigan (2008: 11), the theory of early reading according to Slamet (2013: 77), and the theory of using the SAS (Synthetic Structural Analytic) method according to Krissandi (2018: 74). Qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research was carried out in two cycles, where cycle I consisted of 2 meetings and cycle II consisted of 2 meetings. Each cycle has four stages, namely research planning, implementation, observation and reflection. This research was carried out in the second semester of the 2022/2023 school year. The research subjects were Mahrini, S.Pd (teacher) and Hamdi Harkando (colleague) as observers, researchers as practitioners and 19 class I students consisting of 10 boys and 7 girls. The results of the first cycle of research on teacher activity were 88% (good) increased in cycle II to 94% (very good). Meanwhile, student activity in cycle I was 86%, increased in cycle II by 95%. The results of students' reading ability in cycle I obtained an average score of 70.64 (Fair enough) increased in cycle II to 86.35 (Good). Thus, it can be concluded that the SAS (Synthetic Structural Analytical) method can improve the reading skills of first grade students in learning Indonesian at SD Negeri 15 Ranah Batahan Pasaman Barat.Referensi
