INCREASING THE LEARNING OUTCOMES OF CLASS IV STUDENTS USING THE TEAM GAMES TOURNAMENT (TGT) METHOD IN MATHEMATICS COURSE AT SD NEGERI 07 LAWEH DESERT

Abstrak

This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SD Negeri 07 Gurun Laweh in learning mathematics. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which aims to describe the increase in student learning outcomes in class IV using the Team Games Tournament (TGT) method. The subjects of this study were 19 students in class IV at SD Negeri 07 Gurun Laweh. The instruments of this study consisted of teacher activity observation sheets and learning achievement test sheets. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings. The results showed that the observation of teacher activity in the first cycle with a percentage of 66.67% was included in the good category and in the second cycle there was an increase with a percentage of 83.33% which was included in the very good category. while the learning outcomes in cycle I obtained an average of 75.05 with a completeness percentage of 57.89% and in cycle II obtained an average of 80.63 with a completeness percentage of 84.21%. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the Team Games Tournament (TGT) method can improve student learning outcomes in learning mathematics. Based on the results of this study, researchers suggest that teachers can apply the Team Games Tournament (TGT) method, so that in the future it will improve student learning outcomes in learning mathematics.
