AN ANALYSIS OF THE TENTH GRADE STUDENTS’ ABILITY IN WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXTS USING A PICTURE ON INSTAGRAM AT MAN KOTA SOLOK
Abstrak
ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to describe the tenth grade students' ability in writing descriptive texts using a picture on instagram at MAN Kota Solok. The researcher used descriptive research method for this research. The population of this research was the tenth grade students at MAN Kota Solok and the researcher used purposive sampling technique to select 63 students as the sample. The instrument for collecting the data in this research was a writing test by using Instagram. To make the test reliable the researcher used inter-rater method and the result of analysis showed that the test was reliable. It was supported by the fact that the coefficient correlation was 0.986 which is bigger than the value of the r table at df 61 and alpha .05 (0.248). Then the test was valid because it had covered the material that the students had learnt. Generally, the result of this research showed that the students' ability in writing a descriptive text picture using a picture on Instagram at MAN Kota Solok was high.
