Abstrak

Low interest of students in learning social studies in elementary Kartika Padang characterized by at least 1-11 students ask and answer questions and less active students in the discussion. This research aims to increase student interest using the cooperative model of peer tutoring strategies. Data were analyzed qualitatively and kuantitatif.data were obtained by using teacher observation sheet activities, observation sheet student interest, and student interest questionnaire sheet. the results showed the quality of the learning aspects of teachers increased by 20 %, ie 66.66 % in cycle one being 86.66 % in cycle two. results of the observation sheet student interest, the cycle of the students asking questions is 40%, increased from 42.66 % to 82.66 % in cycle two. increase student interest in answering questions 30.73 % of 50.60 % in cycle one being 81.33 % in cycle dua.minat students in discussing increased 22.66 %, from 60 % in cycle one being 82.66 % in cycle two. questionnaire data analysis interests of students increased from 91.4 % to 92.6 %. based on the results of the data analysis it can be concluded that the students' interest in social studies classes 1-11 V SD Kartika Padang can be enhanced through cooperative model of peer tutoring strategies. for it is expected that educators, especially elementary school teachers should be able to increase student interest, namely the use of peer tutoring strategies.
