Abstrak

This research is motivated by the lack of reading skills of students in learning Indonesian especially fifth grade at SDN 21 Hanging Feature Solok . The purpose of this study was to describe the increase in reading specific to the skills of students in learning to read through the strategy Card Sort in Class V SDN 21 Hanging Feature Solok . This research is Classroom Action Research ( CAR). The subjects were 21 fifth grade students of SDN Hanging characteristic , which has 21 students . The research instrument used is the observation sheet student learning activities and teacher observation sheet activities , and achievement test . Based on the results of this research is the average percentage of the activity of learning to read is 50 % in the first cycle increased to 76.19 % in the second cycle . Implementation process of learning to read 59.53 % in the first cycle increased to 80.95 % in the second cycle . The results of the learning skills of reading 52.37 in the first cycle increased to 76.19 in the second cycle . From the results of this study concluded that learning Indonesian through Card Sort strategies can improve the reading skills of students in grade 21 Hanging Feature SDN Solok . Based on the research results , it is suggested that teachers can menerapkanstrategi Card Sort with both learning Indonesian in accordance with the material being taught .
