AN ANALYSIS OF THE ELEVENTH-GRADE STUDENTS’ ABILITY TO WRITE EXPLANATION TEXTS AT SMKN 5 PADANG
Abstrak
ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to describe the eleventh grade students’ ability in writing explanation text at SMK N 5 Padang. The researcher wanted to describe the students’ ability in writing the content, organization, the language feature, appropriate vocabulary, and apply mechanics. The design of this research was descriptive research. The population of this research was the eleventh grade students at SMK N 5 Padang. Convenience sampling was used in this research and the number of samples was 25 students. The instrument for collecting the data in this research was writing test. The researcher also used inter-rater technique to know the reliability of the test. The reliability coefficient of the test is 0.74. The result of this research showed that the eleventh grade students’ ability in writing explanation text was high. Keywords: Ability, Writing, Explanation textReferensi
