Abstrak

This study aims to describe the increase in activity and student learning outcomes in science learning through the provision of in-class quizzes SDN 03 Gayo River. This study is a classroom action research conducted in the first semester of school year 2013/2014 in 03 River SDN Gayo South Coastal District. Subjects were 03 fifth grade students of SDN Gayo River South Coastal District, amounting to 16 students. The study was conducted in two cycles, and each cycle consisted of two meetings. Research instrument in the form of text matter objectively, essays and observations of student activity sheets and teacher aspect. The results showed an increase in the activity of the first cycle of students meeting the first 49.9% and at the second meeting which increased 57.8%. First meeting of the second cycle and 70.3% at the second meeting which increased 81.3%. Average student learning outcomes 69.9 first cycle and the second cycle is 75.9 increase. This means that the implementation of the provision of learning science using the quiz goes well. Based on the results of this study concluded that the use of learning through the provision of activities and quizzes can improve learning outcomes in science learning in class V river Gayo SDN 03 South Coastal District. The results of this study are expected to be useful for teachers and readers in order to improve student learning outcomes in the classroom, while the students can be trained to socialize with friends.
