Abstrak

The purpose of this study is to describe the increase in participation in the fifth grade students learn to ask and answer questions, as well as describing the increase in science learning outcomes of students grade V. The approach used in this study is the approach of Brain Based Learning ( Brain -Based Learning Ability ). Brain Based Learning Approach is an approach to learning that is aligned with the workings of the brain is naturally designed to learn that learning is more fun and can trigger emotions of students. Based on the research results , obtained by asking the percentage of student participation in the first cycle 52 %, and 84 % the second cycle, the percentage of student participation in answering questions during the discussion or answer the teacher's question first cycle 50 %, and 82 % the second cycle, the percentage of science students' mastery of learning outcomes 56 % first cycle, second cycle and 84 %, the average value of UH in the first cycle 73.44 and the second cycle 81.44 this proves that the second cycle had a lot of students who achieve or above KKM estab school is 75. So learning science using Brain Based Learning approach can increase student participation and learning outcomes. The results of this study concluded that the use of Brain Based Learning approach can increase student participation and learning outcomes. It is therefore recommended to teachers in order to implement the Brain Based Learning approaches in learning science as an approach to learning science in elementary school.
