Abstrak

The purpose of this research is to increase the participation and learning outcomes of sixth grade students SD Negeri 18 Sumedang Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan using Explicit Instruction Model. Research is action research that consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection . The instrument used is the participation observation sheet , observation sheets and teachers activity sheets achievement test. The results showed that the percentage of student participation in the cycle I want to ask that is 56.38 % increase in cycle II 81,25%. The percentage of student participation would answer the first cycle is 53,13%, an increase of 81,25 in the second cycle . The percentage of student participation would express their opinions on the first cycle is 46,88%, an increase of 78,13% in the second cycle . The percentage of students willing to discuss the group 's participation in the first cycle is 50% , an increase of 87,5 % in the second cycle. Average science learning outcomes that students in the first cycle is 66,44 with 50% mastery learning percentage increased to an average of 81,38 with a percentage of 87,5 passing grade on the second cycle . It can be concluded that by using the Explicit models Insrtuction can increase participation and student learning outcomes. It is therefore recommended to teachers in order to implement Instuction Explicit models in learning science in elementary school.
