Abstrak

Classroom action research aims to ( 1 ) describe the participation of students ( 2 ) describe the management of teacher learning by referring to the model of explicit instruction in the fifth grade at SDN 22 Lubuk Alung second semester of academic year 2013/2014 to force the material in teaching science . The experiment was conducted in two cycles , where each cycle consists of the planning, implementation , observation and reflection . One cycle consisted of two meetings , as well as two cycles . Student participation data extracted by observation sheet student participation , the data management of learning by teachers explored by teacher observation sheet activity . The results showed that the participation of students in learning , which refers to the model penelitin Explicit Instruction in this class action is in the category LOT . Based on the research it can be concluded that the model can increase the participation of Explicit Instruction fifth grade students learn to ask the indicator increased from 40.27 % to 81 % , answered questions increased from 33.33 % to 81.94 % and increased expression of 26.39 % to 81 % . By sebeb it is suggested that teachers can use models in learning science
