Abstrak

The low completeness learning mathematic of  students one of which is caused by a lack of interest , lack of motivation and involvement of the student in learning.  One model that is expected to overcome these problems is to use cooperative learning models group investigation type. With this model the teacher can create a learning environment that can increase student interest. So that students actively asking questions and express opinions. The purpose of this study was to know the activity and result of students’ mathematic learning class VII SMP N 1Subdistrict Malalak of Agam regency in study that the cooperative learning models group investigation type is better than students’ mathematic using conventional learning. Type of this research was Experimental. Population in this research was all of students class VII SMPN1 Sub district Malalak of Agam regency. This sampling technique using total sampling technique. Learning activity data obtained from observation sheet consisting of 8 indicators.  The results obtained in the presence of an increasing trend of students learning activities. Data result of students mathematic learning obtained from the final test scores were given to the two classes of samples. Based on the results count obtained   = 2,013 and = = 1,70 at 95 % confidence level, it turns out   , so it can be concluded that the result of students mathematic learning who apply mathematical cooperative learning models  group investigation type better than the result of students mathematic learning who apply conventional learning in class VII SMP N 1 Sub district Malalak of  Agam regency.
