Abstrak

This classroom action research on increased interest and student learning outcomes in learning civics through the applicationt of inquiry methods to fifth grade students of SDN 03 Tarung-Tarung Solok. The research intrsument used in this study is the observation sheet teacher activity, student achievement test sheets, and observation sheet student interest. Based on the results of the study showed an interest in participating in the lesson students increased, visible indicators of interest from students to attend classes, on the first cycle 70% to 87% in the second cycle; indicator liveliness ask, in the first cycle 20% to 47% in the second cycle; indicators would answer the teacher’s question, from 30% in the first cycle to 67% in the second cycle, and indicators of teacher competing a given task, from 83% in the first cycle to 97% in the second cycle. Student learning outcomes are also evident from the increased level of thoroughness , from 36.7% in the first cycle to 86,65% in the second cycle. The results of the average value of students also increased from 67.00 in the first cycle, the second cycle becomes 86.67. This means that the process of the implementation of learning civics through inquiry methods has been progressing well. From the analysis of the research results obtained, it can be concluded that through the application of inquiry methods to increase interest and learning outcomes civics fifth grade students of SDN 03 Tarung-Tarung. Based on the results of the research can be suggested, so that teachers can use inquiry methods to increase student interest and learning outcomes.
