PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MENULIS PUISI SISWA KELAS X DENGAN TEKNIK “MIND MAPPING” DI SMAN 1 SUNGAI LIMAU KABUPATEN PADANG PARIAMAN

ABSTRACT
This research aims to describe the improvement of students’ skill in writing a poem by using mind mapping technique. This research used theory stated by (1) Tony Buzan (2013:4), (2) Bobbi DePorter and Mike Hernacki (2011:153), by qualitative and quantitative method. This research was Classroom Action Research (PTK). The collection of data was taken by two cycles, the students’ learning outcome in writing a poem at the first cycle was 64 %, the result of teacher observation in the action teaching writing earlier was 66,67% become 73,33% or increased 7% and have good qualification, related to the students observation was 55,8% was in not optimal qualification. While the result of students’ learning outcome in writing a poem at second cycle was 83%, the result of teacher observation in the action teaching writing earlier was 80,0% become 80,0% or did not increased to reach the best qualification, related to the students observation was 76,5% was in a good qualification. Based on the result of research can be concluded that the students’ learning outcome of SMAN 1 Sungai Limau in writing a poem increased that can be seen from students’ observation sheet from first cycle 64% become 83% in the second cycles or increased about 19%.
