The Relationship Between Learning Interest and Science Learning Outcomes of Grade IV Students of SD Islam Khaira Ummah Padang

Natural Sciences (IPA) is a science that studies natural phenomena in everyday life. IPA is a way for someone to find out about natural phenomena that can have an impact on life, where these natural phenomena can be natural learning for human life. This is explained by Junitasari & Heryanto (2024:2) through science learning, it allows students to better understand the natural processes that occur around them by studying the properties of objects in material form. . In everyday life, science is needed to meet human needs through solving identifiable problems. Science is one of the compulsory subjects in elementary schools that must be implemented so that students can have experiences related to real life to find a concept. Meanwhile, according to Suhelayanti (2023:13) natural science tries to encourage humans to always have the desire to increase their intelligence and understanding to explore nature and its contents. Interest plays an important role in human life to determine a desire through conscience. Interest education plays an important role in helping students achieve an achievement through their desire to gain knowledge. Therefore, if students have a high interest, they will provide good and maximum learning outcomes and vice versa. According to Yunitasar & Hanifah, (2020:8) interest in learning has indicators in it, namely feelings of interest, happiness, activity, high concentration, enthusiasm in learning, and students are comfortable following the learning process. Interest in learning is the freedom from the deepest heart to learn, get information, knowledge through effort, teaching or experience. This research is quantitative research, with a correlational approach. This research was conducted to determine the level of relationship between two variables X and variable Y, without making changes, additions or manipulations. The tool that will be used is a questionnaire. According to Sugiyono (2022:142) Questionnaire is a data collection technique carried out by giving a set of written questions or statements to respondents to answer. The subjects of this study were 109 students of grade IV of SD Islam Khaira Ummah Padang in the Odd Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year. From the total number of 109 grade IV students, the number of populations in this study, therefore the author will limit the population of all students to 109 by calculating the sample size. then those who will be used as respondents can be calculated using the Slovin Formula or Slovin Formula, then the research sample is 86 students. The results of the study can be seen in the correlation test of learning interest of 0.024 with sig 0.83> 0.20 is in the low criteria with high significance. This shows that the calculated r value> r table so that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between learning interest and the results of learning science in grade IV students of SD Islam Khaira Ummah Padang. with the influence of the determination coefficient of learning interest of 2.4% contributing to the learning outcomes (Y) of grade IV students of SD Islam Khaira Ummah Padang.##submission.additionalFiles##
