This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes caused by the lack of Learning motivation seen from many students who have not reached the Criteria for Achieving Learning Objectives (KKTP), especially in learning mathematics. Many students do not understand the material, which is given. This causes students to tend to be confused when faced with more challenging problems. The thing that causes low student learning outcomes is also caused by student learning motivation can be seen from the lack of desire and drive to achieve success, lack of motivating hopes and ideals for the future, no appreciation received in the learning process, interesting learning, and learning situations that are not conducive. Math is always considered difficult to learn, even considered scary by some students. Before this, they think math is difficult because it uses symbols and symbols that are interpreted by mathematical formulas. Students are less able to solve problems due to difficulties in learning mathematics. Students are more likely to memorize mathematical concepts and only take notes. Although they do not understand what they memorize and note down, students do not know how to solve mathematical problems with the concepts they memorize. Students' learning outcomes will have an impact on their math problem-solving abilities due to learning difficulties. The research conducted by researchers is quantitative research, Sugiyono (2024:15) states that the quantitative method is an investigative technique based on the philosophy of positivism, aims to study population groups or special examples, data collection is carried out through study tools, data analysis is in the form of numbers statistics, with the intention of detailing and testing previously formed hypotheses. This study aims to examine the impact of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in improving problem solving skills. This design has a control group, but is not fully able to control external variables that affect the course of the experiment. In this study, samples from control and experimental classes were used. In the sample class, learning was carried out with a conventional model (lecture), while in the experimental class, learning activities were carried out with the Problem Based Learning model. After finishing discussing the material, both classes were tested to assess students' motivation and learning outcomes after being given different treatments by the teacher. The experimental design used in this study was Posttet- Only Control Design. The results obtained showed that the average learning outcomes were higher in the experimental class 77.82 compared to the control class 57.75 with tcount = 11.84 > ttable = 2.057. Thus H1 is accepted. So it can be concluded that the motivation of Mathematics learning outcomes of students whose learning applies the PBL model is better than the learning outcomes that apply conventional learning of grade IV students of SDN 032/XI Simpang Tiga Rawang Kota Sungai Penuh Academic Year 2024/2025. Thus the application of the PBL model is expected to increase the effectiveness of learning.##submission.additionalFiles##
