Improving Learning Outcomes of Grade IV Students in Science Learning Through the Take and Give Model at SDN 90/III Pelompek, Gunung Tujuh District, Kerinci Regency
Abstrak
SDN 90/III Pelompek is one of the elementary school education in Pelompek Village, Gunung Tujuh District, Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province. In carrying out its activities, SDN 90/III Pelompek is under the auspices of the regional government of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. This study aims to determine the cognitive learning outcomes of the knowledge aspect of grade IV students in science learning at SDN 90/III Pelompek, Gunung Tujuh District, Kerinci Regency. According to Purwanto (Purwaningsih 2022: 423) learning outcomes can be explained by understanding the two words that form them, namely "results" and "learning". The definition of results (product) refers to an achievement due to an activity or process that results in a functional change in input. Production results are the results obtained due to the activity of changing materials (raw materials) into finished goods. Whether learning outcomes are good or bad depends on the individual students who learn and the teachers who teach, because learning outcomes are obtained from students who experience the learning process and the teachers who teach them. According to Slavin (Shoimin 2020: 195) The Take and Give learning model basically refers to constructivism, namely learning that can make students themselves active and build knowledge that will become their own. In this process, students check and adjust the new knowledge they learn with the framework of thinking they already have. Take and Give Learning is a learning process that tries to link new knowledge with the knowledge that students already have. The research used is the type of Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research subjects consisted of 17 students, the data collection technique used in this study used observation, written tests. The research instruments include teacher activity observation sheets, learning outcome tests, documentation. Data analysis techniques include teacher activities, learning outcomes. Judging from the percentage of teacher activity in cycle I, the average value was 70%. While in cycle II, the average percentage of teacher activity was 90%. This shows that teacher activity has increased in cycle II. The increase in student learning outcomes in the cognitive domain of the knowledge aspect in science learning, cycle I obtained an average value of 68.6 with a completion percentage of 59%. This has not reached the target of the success indicator that has been set, which is 70%. After reflection in cycle II, the increase in student learning outcomes increased by an average of 83.5 with a completion percentage of 88%. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that after using the take and give learning model at SDN 90/III Pelompek, Gunung Tujuh District, Kerinci Regency, there was an increase and it can be said to be successful, because it has reached the target of 70%.
